Bio-Structural Analysis & Balancing
Providing Effective YogasAnalysis™ and Yoga Therapy, as well as hands-on bodywork, involves Structural Balancing . . .
. . . or working with your Client's specific muscles that are most in need of relaxation and lengthening. … To balance a human structure, you'll need to perform accurate Postural Assessments. This skill, in turn, requires understanding the anatomical components and the kinesiological & physiological mechanisms producing your Client's current, unique structure and holding patterns. You need to see beyond the superficial posture, understanding the deeper psycho-neurological actions that place and hold the body in various positions.
Bio-Structural Analysis, therefore, teaches you to see the living human bodymind in ways allowing you to determine the Primary Contractors, the muscles most responsible for poor posture and compromised structure. These become the target of specific asana and/or hands-on techniques. Yet you will not lose sight of the fact that there is a living, breathing human being, with feelings and emotions, behind their current posture and structural holding and movement patterns.
