Here’s What You Will Be Receiving
In Your e-Mail Box on Regular
Basis:

1. A 5-week e-Course on the 9 Natural Laws of Yoga

Delivered every 3 to 4 days Directly to Your e-Mail box

I believe we all need more ideas and information on what Yoga is all about, and why do it. It can also be helpful to have more ideas about how Yoga works, and why. This is especially true when it comes to introducing new people to Yoga, or actually enrolling them in trying it out.

And very often, even the most committed practitioners and students — even some teachers now and then — need a reminder or inspiration of why to continue, or get back into, doing their yoga. ESPECIALLY when they get injured. … Or when the hit the nearly inevitable plateau at which nothing seems to change or improve, or they even backslide.

I have found there are certain pieces of information that help people understand, or get re-comitted to, why yoga is such a great thing. Not that these are the only ones, but these are several of the facts that have worked for me and my communication with other human beings about yoga. There are many others, and you will find as many of them as I can think of if you start using this website.

And remember, most of physical, mental and relational yoga is based on how the human bodymind actually works, no matter WHAT your beliefs* about it are.

(* Please See the Note on this Page, Below about some Beliefs I have that give you a better idea of where I and this website are coming from.)

These Natural Laws I present to you are derived in part from a Western and Scientific Perspective. I believe that at it’s deeper levels, Yoga is a universally essential element of Being Human, and that it can be utilized and enjoyed to great benefit without having to delve into the Eastern versions of mysticism, religion, spirituality, or Eastern ideas of the meaning of life. This is especially true since so many Eastern view-points have widely different takes on each of these, sometimes in direct opposition to each other.

That’s why I say that even if the sages in the East discovered yoga, yoga is not owned or controlled by anyone or any place. Yoga is a Human thing, not an exclusively Eastern thing. You can’t patent it. You can’t trademark it.

Yet, if you want to combine Western, scientific studies with your Eastern studies and belief systems, and that’s what your Students & Clients want, then GREAT. Do your thing.

Regardless, these Basic Natural Laws will help set the foundation for everything else in the DSL Let-Go Yoga website. And they just might help you become more effective and, hopefully, entice more people into what you are doing and teaching. As my AmericanYogi.us website says, Conscious Prosperity is a good thing too, and it makes it easier to live a life of Peace and Freedom.

Anyway, you should be getting your first e-mail installment of the Natural Laws very soon now. It”s about Kitties and Doggies and Yoga, by the way. :-D

2. A Weekly — at least — Article — about 600 to 1,200 words — on Yoga

Every week, I will be publishing an article on some aspect of physical, mental, relational and/or therapeutic yoga. They will be on a wide range of topics that will hopefully be of interest to you. And please use the Contact forms on the bottom or sidebars of the website to suggest ideas for things you would like to learn or know about.

Now, truth be told, it is VERY difficult for me to keep my writings short, so this will be my yoga: meaningful yet concise and short.

You can view a list of my FREE Articles here.

3. Commentary On Various Issues of the Day & Week

Many things show up in the world of yoga on a frequent basis, or other areas in which a yogic perspective can shed some light. Or things that might affect yoga in various ways, like politics. I will be making comments on many of them.

I’ll have something to say anywhere from once or twice a week to every DAY. But don’t worry, right now I am only planning to send one of these out each week. However, once I figure out how to do it, there will be an option for those who want to read or hear what I publish whenever I publish it.

And no, you are NOT, of course, required to read them all. It’s not like I am going to be testing you or anything. So if you’ve got too much e-mail to read for the day, I will understand if you do not read them all. But there will be a tip in your first e-mail introducing the Laws on where to put my e-mails to you on your computer for future reference.

HOWEVER, I will label them IMPORTANT if they are something I think you would REALLY benefit from reading.

One of the things I do is subscribe to Google Alerts. I have it set for the words like yoga, stretching and massage. (Any more than that and I would be buried in e-mail. . . . Come to think of it, I AM buried in e-mail!) … There are all kinds of news reports from around the world on yoga and various similar topics. I often find there are important things to be known and said about these events and ideas, and so I let you know.

One example is the BIG on-going debate about the meaning of the word Yoga. Is it necessarily a Hindu Spiritual or Religious thing? And what do those words really mean, anyway?

Many sites by Hindu and traditional Yoga practitioners say YES, that yoga IS inherently a religious practice. Many Christian fundamentalists say that too. Others say, NO ITS NOT! … How you view this dilemma has a big impact on how you present yourself and your teaching, and how you function around it. Although I doubt that I can completely clear the matter up for everyone, I hope to shed some light on it to help you and I and a few others think, act and communicate more effectively on that issue.

Also, many of the yoga magazines, and websites, whom I shall not mention right now, very often publish articles that I have somewhere between minor to very significant objections to. And these are not always, in my opinion, just a matter of opinion. Some of them are like arguing whether or not gravity exists. Many of them, especially on the anatomy, kinesiology and physiology of asana, are going to determine whether people end up hurting themselves or not. So I feel compelled to speak my mind, which OFTEN goes against the common wisdom on many issues. Please let me know if I come across too strident on these issues, though, if you can.

(I toyed with the idea of calling this website your Politically Incorrect Guide to Yoga. But I thought it might be too politically incorrect to do so.)

4. Updates & Offers

Whenever I publish new material on the website, I will let you know what it is, and give you a link to it.

When I have seminars or workshops scheduled, I’ll let you know.

When I have something … YES, to OFFER to you that you can PURCHASE … that I think you might be interested in, I will let you know.

And lets face it, this website will most likely and quickly become a full-time endeavor for me, so, if I am going to provide you with a stream of high quality information and insight and skiils, it will have to become my primary source of income. My hope is to make this website so valuable to you that my publications become vital to your progress in practicing and teaching yoga. But I also want it valuable to you even if you never buy a thing from me. … What helps one of us helps all of us, one way or another.

Always Remember — If you ever want to UN-subscribe, there should be a link at the bottom of every e-mail letting you instantly do so. Now, obviously, I hope you never want to, but you always have that option. — If for some reason the unsubscribe option does not work, please contact me and I will personally see that it is done.

* A NOTE on some of the Beliefs behind this Website:

I realize there are those who believe that Reality is only an extension of their personal beliefs and perceptions. Some also believe that anything can be manifested just by shifting one’s belief or perception. … I don’t believe it. Not in the extreme, anyway.

I DO believe our personal beliefs INFLUENCE our perceptions and actions (which include our blind-spots and IN-actions) which in turn affects what happens. We don’t CONTROL reality, we interact with it. And the more aware we can become of reality, of what’s really there, and the more we understand how reality works, the more influence we can have over it.

By-the-way, my personal definition of Reality is:
Everything that’s left over when I disappear. :-)
. . . David Scott Lynn

The DSL approach is not about telling people or you what the meaning of life is or what your beliefs should be. It’s about helping people to find tools for observing reality, as best as possible, and discovering their own sense of reality for themselves. You WILL, over time, find out what I think or believe about most of that, but not as a rule for you to follow or an absolute certainty.

Once Again, Thank You for Signing On,
Take Care,
David Scott Lynn
