Are YOU (or if you are a Health Care Practitioner, your Client, Patient or Student) in constant, intermittent, or debilitating PAIN — upper back pain, lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, chest pain, wrist pain, leg pain, knee pain, foot pain, arthritis pain, joint pain, ANY kind of pain — but NOTHING, or very little, shows up on your X-Rays or MRI, and NO ONE seems to believe or understand you, let alone offer pain relief?

Decompressing your body by relaxing or DE-contracting overly-tense and stressed muscles is not always an easy thing to accomplish. Yes, I KNOW from direct personal experience (I too, had severe, debilitating back and hip pain for over three years, and shoulder pain too) that it can be daunting to undo the physical stresses, the habit patterns or physical/mental memories of trauma that cause tension. And yes, there are people who have great difficulty in learning the necessary ability to Feel, Relax, Lengthen, Balance and, finally, Control their muscles. But … if muscle tension is your problem, it MUST be done. Or … well, let's not think about that!

In the summer of 1982, as I walked down the steps of my Near North side apartment in Chicago one afternoon, I made a Life-Changing Decision. …
A decision to figure out how to help the 5 or 10 per cent of people who had neuromuscular and myofascial issues that were not helped by commonly available methods. This includes BOTH orthodox and alternative therapies.
You can read my story and the development of DSL Let-Go Yoga and DSL EdgeWork elsewhere on this website, but with the help of a few teachers and mentors in several fields, I constructed a unique and effective system of therapy that achieved that goal. It took several years, but if a person has a problem in the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular or myofascial system, and it revolves around accumulated tension, stress and habit patterns (and it is amazing how many things ARE tension related!!!), then I have a very high likelihood of helping.
I have had extensive experience working with and training yoga teachers, massage & bodywork therapists (including already highly trained myofascial, neuromuscular & structural therapists — and Rolfers too), physical therapists, chiropractors, and others from Los Angeles to London to Acapulco and many places in between. My experience is that VERY FEW of them truly understood physical and mental tension, stress and habit patterns to the degree necessary to help the 5 or 10 per cent of symptomatic people who have seemingly unmanageable cases.
In fact, a number of therapists have brought me to their clinics to work on them and their most difficult clients, showing them how I would work with these individuals, including the therapists' own problems.
I know many yoga teachers who have become private Clients of mine because after years of doing and teaching yoga, they are developing rocks & knots and aches & pains in their muscles. After helping them learn how to Feel, Relax, Lengthen & Balance those muscles, then I have to help them reconstruct how they do yoga or massage or bodywork.
And how would YOU feel if you had been teaching yoga or practicing bodywork for 10 or 20 years or so and then found out you had been doing and teaching things that could have been detrimental in the long run to your students, clients or patients? (This includes professionals who've been trained by some of the TOP trainers in the world. Many of them got very upset when they learned that much of what they thought were state-of-the-art principles and techniques were, in some cases, counterproductive … at best.)
Of course, some people think they can't do yoga or exercise at all. Or massage/bodywork hurts too much or does not last. So how do they take care of their tension levels?
Many of my Clients & Students have asked if I have written a book, done a video, or whether I have trained people to do what I do in different places around the country, or why I have not started a Healing Center somewhere. Or why I never became a doctor.
Well, the truth is that I am one of those guys who prefers the art and science and delivery end of health care and not the business and management end, and I don't want the headaches of a center.
And, why I am not a doctor or physical therapist? Well, years ago I was told by many of them that I would be unhappy because it would take me away from what I do best — and that is educating and teaching how to provide my system of therapy. They said I would spend a lot of time and money learning things that were irrelevant to helping people with the kind of problems that I already was able to solve relatively simply.
Astounding as it may be, because of the nature of medical, chiropractic and physical therapy schools, they learn VERY LITTLE about muscle tension and its resolution the way I and the handful of people like me do. Even massage schools just barely touch on certain principles, techniques and sciences the way and to the depth necessary to achieve the desired results.
(I also knew several physicians who had gone to jail or were ruined by the system for practicing alternative therapies, REGARDLESS of how effective they were; so I did not see having a license as providing any protection, but that is a whole other topic for a whole other website!!!)
But right now, in order to help as many people as possible, I am moving toward publishing my ideas and training therapists in an integrated system of a non-mystical or religious approach to physical/mental Yoga and hands-on, neuro-structurally oriented Bodywork.
To get therapists to my training program, I need for people like YOU to be knowledgeable enough about this kind of work that a demand for DSL Let-Go Yoga and DSL EdgeWork grows in America.
So this, and one or two companion sites, are my start in spreading this information far and wide. I am, frankly, hoping that I can make this site so useful to you that many of you will get results and tell others.
I have done my best to keep as much information available on this site for FREE. You will learn A LOT just by reading through my free e-Courses and articles, and you won't pay a dime. (At this point, some my e-Courses as well as the Special Reports and e-Books on this site cost money.)
Many of you, just by what's on these pages, will even be able to make changes in your bodymind that you have not yet been able to make. Some of you, however, will need more in-depth help.
