The Technology Gap

0

Tradition is important just as history is important — not as a vice to squeeze the present into, but rather as a stepping stone to grow from.

Joel Kramer — The Father of American Yoga

Paul Zane Pilzer, in his book Unlimited Wealth, explains that The Technology Gap is determined by whether an individual, profession or industry is applying the highest, best principles, practices and techniques available. You move ahead in life by helping people, and if you’re among the first to apply the best and newest technologies that help people achieve what they need and want, you will profit (meaning to move ahead) greatly from your efforts.

The word Profit means, etymologically, to advance; to make suitable, right or proper; to make a gain. It is To Move Ahead. It is NOT inherently about money.

The word Lucre has to do with money or it's equivalents, especially when ill-gotten.

Therefore, if we are not moving ahead in Life, we are stagnating or falling behind, not living life fully. … To be Anti-Profit, then, means to be against Moving Ahead in Life.

Don't confuse Profit-seeking with Lucre-seeking.

Yoga has provided tremendous benefit to many thousands of people over the centuries. There are many traditional points of view and practices from yoga that to this day contribute to their well-being. At the same time, some deeply held beliefs and viewpoints are questionable as to their value — some are even dangerous. We might have a be-lief that the “tried & true” is superior, but it’s not always so.

Although we must be very careful when attempting to change age-old traditional approaches to anything (conservative), we must not hold onto the past just because it has authority. The whole direction of human evolution — for individuals and societies — includes learning from, transcending and going beyond the past (liberal). But transcendence, as pointed out by Ken Wilber in his many books and papers, means to Master AND Include the best developments of the past as one moves to the next level. Yoga, a tool of healing and self-development, ideally evolves along with human nature. Not only must our knowledge, skills and tools keep up with us, we must keep up with them. This process was called Time-Binding by Alfred Korzybski, an important element of DSL’s Programs.

Old Paradigms of learning say education is about remembering and recreating the wisdom of the ancients, of those who came before us. The New Paradigm says real learning and intelligence are more about relatively independent thinkers being able to formulate new and better, more relevant questions, then pursuing the answers diligently.

To be a leader in any field, you must position yourself to keep up with and apply new developments. DSL sees New Paradigms of Yoga Emerging. The Old Paradigms offer much of value, but some of it will fade away as some is retained and updated, especially as yoga has jumped cultures from India to America. Those who discover and apply the best of both Old and New yogic thinking will be at the Leading Edge of the Technology Gap.

DSL offers YOU the opportunity to move ahead in your yoga with his revolutionary, unique perspectives and techniques. As Krishnamurti pointed out, you can learn to open your own Creative Processes, and intelligently discern essential elements of, and responses to, reality. … You can BE on the Leading Edge of the Technology Gap in Yoga Fundamentals & Therapeutics, becoming one of the forward thinking Seers & Innovators in the field.
