Logistics for DSL Programs
The DSL Trainings:
The Not So Fine Print
Thank You for Your Interest in the DSL Yoga Programs. This flyer provides the Logistical Details, and there should have been four other pages of different colors in the same envelope. If you did not receive them all, please contact me at the phone or e-mail at bottom of page. . . .
Starting a new Workshop Series can have a lot of Ups & Downs in the Beginning, especially if you’ve been out of circulation for a long time, which I have. Plus, I was for many years working with massage & body-workers most of the time, rather than yogis. But I’m going back to my roots now, which is yoga.
But, with the large number and wide variety of pro-grams available, it can be a real challenge to set yourself apart so people can know why you might better serve their needs than other programs … and doing so without disparaging the others.
But … It’s All in the Marketing, which seems to be a Dirty Word to some, especially for many in the fields of yoga and alternative health & lifestyle. But let’s face it: with all of us bombarded with many hundreds of marketing messages every day, it’s tough to to sift through and see all of what’s available and deeper into the essence of who people really are. …
So YES, I admit it, THIS is a Marketing Package!
Yet, what exactly IS marketing anyway? …
Well, it’s about me getting to know, thoroughly and deeply, 1.) Who I AM as an unique human being, 2.) What — IF ANYTHING — I have to offer YOUregarding your specific needs & wants, and 3.) Why you should choose me rather than other possible providers, IF that is the wise thing for you to do.
And in the New Age of Marketing, it’s about doing it as transparently, honestly and non-manipulatively as possible, looking for where are the BENEFITS for YOU, my potential Client or Student.
SO … My Offering to YOU is Simple: I believe I can provide you with asuperior knowledge and under-standing of and skill with the human bodymind, and how it works in yoga, yoga therapy and yoga-based bodywork. After you’ve taken some of my programs, you’ll understand how the human body, mind and emotions work — or breakdown — more deeply and widely than most people. And we’ll do this in an integrated, Thinking AND Feeling way.
Can I PROVE this?
Well, right now, the best proof I can offer you is the Testimonial pages on my website. (And a few of them are on the flyers you should have received.)
But I will say this: IF you are not REALLY interested in the rational & analytical thinking part of yoga/yoga therapy, you might NOT be happy with my programs.
There are plenty of places you can go to do all kinds of asana classes, and that’s great. BUT, there are certain things you’ll not understand nor be able to do unless you fully engage the rational mind in your personal yogic process. This is one reason so many of the Yoga Sages from India were such prolific intel-lectuals as well as deep feelers. They knew you need both to BE a True Master at certain things.
Anyway, right now I’m starting completely from scratch with NO capital, and because I’ve spent the last few years on LOTS of writing, website develop-ment, studying marketing, etc., I’ve not had much in-come the last few years. So, frankly, I need your help in getting these programs going. This is aGrassroots Endeavor I am asking you to embark on with me, which will help keep them as inexpensive as possible.
Therefore I must humbly ask that you PLEASE bear with me and the ambiguities necessary (dates, times, locations, etc.) for this Start Up Phaseof the DSL Programs, and that if you can be of assistance in making them happen, it will be GREATLY appreciated and rewarded as best I can. My Trainings WILL be worth it to you if you attend.
Thanks for Reading and … Happy Marketing! That’s something we all need to learn more about, and how The Masses are going to learn about and get into Yoga.
Take Care, David Scott Lynn

RE: The FREE Talks:
Unfortunately, at this time, I can only provide the FREE Talks if you and your group are immediately accessible via the Boston MBTA Bus & T System. You will be responsible for getting me and my stuff to and from the closestMBTA T or Bus stop. … If you are outside of that system, then I will have to charge whatever my expenses were to travel and present the Talk, which might require a night in a hotel if too far from my home, like NYC, Providence, etc.
These Talks Are Value Packed. …
Please take advantage of them NOW while I’m still living in the area. … You’ll be able to use many of the ideas & concepts immediately in your work and life.
At some point in the Very Near Future, ONLY those who are actively taking and paying for my Training Programs will have No Charge Access to these Talks — modified for the General Public — for their poten-tial Students, Clients & Patients. That will be one of the many ways I help my students with their market-ing and public education, and their Right Livelihood process (a separate program I’ve been developing).
For FREE Talks in NYC, Providence, Hartford, Portland, etc, this might include bus or train expenses, plus a night in a hotel. You are responsible for providing the room and attendees, I present. (I do NOT require 5 Star accommodations!)
Out of Town Talks & Workshops
If the Talks or Workshops are out of town (I am currently and temporarily in the Boston area) then residential (hotel & restaurant) fees will also apply, in addition to Teaching Space & Transport.
There is NO Maximum number of
Attendees for the FREE Talks.
The 15 Hour Introductory Basic Workshop
$90 Tuition / Workshop
(INTRODUCTORY PRICE ONLY)
I am currently offering my Return to Teaching Super Discount of $90 for each Workshop. This is the Basic Teaching Fee.
PLUS, there will be an additional Facilities & Transportation Fee for whatever it costs me to produce and deliver the program, including room rental and transport of me and my stuff to the workshop location. … For the Chair Yoga portion, if no chairs are available, we’ll have to rent some good Folding Chairs, too.
The total costs will be divided equally among the members of the group, and added to their $90 Tuition Fee. …
The reasons for having two separate charges is that the costs for setting up and producing each program will vary dramatically from group to group, and location to location, and I cannot honestly predict them.
The total price could vary quite a bit for each workshop depending on a number of factors.
Hopefully, this will motivate potential Students to help find the best facilities & prices. Any assist-ance YOU provide in helping keep expenses down will be much appreciated by the rest of your group.
This Introductory Price is TEMPORARY, and will be raised as soon as I receive sufficient response to my marketing. I‘ve not yet establish-ed an exact criteria for that. So I suggest you SIGN UP ASAP if you want to take advantage of this low price. … It will not last long.
Weekday Classes:
Many yoga teachers have no classes to teach from late morning to late afternoon. If 8 to 12 teachers would like to take my programs on, for example, Tuesday thru Thursday from Noon to 4:30 PM, which could include two 15 minute breaks, we could do this as often as every week, or up to once a month. … That would be great for me. How about You? Let me know @ phone/e-mail.
DEPOSITS:
Because Workshop fees are so low, the $90 Tuition is PAYBLE IN FULL to register. This reserves your space in the program.
PAYMENT METHODS:
Checks are Payable to David Scott Lynn

Credit Cards are Accepted via Internet & PayPal. … HOW IT WORKS: All you need is an e-mail address, and you do NOT need to sign up for PayPal. You send me your e–mail address, I send you a PayPal Money Request via e-mail, and you follow their instructions with your Credit Card. … This is MUCH safer than giving someone your card number over the phone or in person.
ADVANCE PAYMENTS & DISCOUNT:
If you sign up and pay for all five Workshops IN ADVANCE, you pay $400 and receive an 11% discount:. YOU SAVE 50 dollars.
If You or a few of You Pay for ALL Workshops & They Do NOT Happen:
I’ll work with you IN PERSON for 12 Full Hours, giving you a Private Basic Training in Yoga, Yoga Therapy & Yoga-based-bodywork.
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE:
IF you are not sure the DSL Method is for you: Attend the FREE Intro Talk. If you are favorably impressed, then pay for and take the 15 hour Basic Workshop. IF, at the end of the 15 Hour Basic Workshop, you decide that The DSL Method is NOT for you, then you get your money back.
All I ask is that you give me a written critique of what DID and did NOT work for you in the Workshop. This will help me improve my programs for others, and reduces your financial risk down to almost zero.
BONUS: $90 for a …
Private 3 hr. Hands-On Bodywork Session
For EACH Workshop you attend, you can opt in to receive a 3 to 4 hour Private, Hands-on, Yoga-based, Structural Bodywork Session with me for only $90. (PLUS any room rental or transportation fees I incur.) We’ll combine hands-on work, anatomy & physiology, yoga, discussing questions you have, and whatever else you need to get a full and complete experience of The DSL Method.
The price for this is normally $270. So $90 is a REALLY good price. Why am I doing it? … Because working privately with me is one of the very best ways to integrate your understanding and experience of what The DSL Method has to offer You and Your Students & Clients. And right now, because it’s more important for me to have YOU really GET what this work is all about, I am willing to work at this low price.
HOWEVER, there is ONE Catch for the low price. If you really like The DSL Method, I want you to provide a Testimonial I can use in my marketing. On the other hand, if you did NOT like the work or presenta-tion, I want you to tell me why so I can improve my product. And again, this price will not last long. It is an Introductory Price.
Dates & Times:
As of this writing, no actual dates have been established. Because teaching space in the Boston and NYC areas are sparse and at a premium, when I have received CONFIRMATION of interest from SIX or more people, and received their preferences for Dates & Times, I will find and schedule workshop space. … Because these are going to be small groups, it makes more sense to choose dates that work best for you and the other participants, rather than set dates and hope someone can make it.
Setting Up Time Schedules:
Time possibilities are quite variable, depending on needs and schedule of the group. Essentially, I like to work in 3 or 6 hour blocks plus break time.
Starting ON TIME:
We need to start on time. It’s IMPORTANT that you target to arrive 15, preferably 30, minutes before class time starts. This allows you to get settled in, talk with other students, etc. … On Breaks, MY REQUEST is that, since I am not a pushy guy, YOU be ready to go, ON TIME, and not make me push people to get back to the classroom so we can start or restart on time.
Breaks:
In a 3 hour block, we work for 90 minutes, take one 20 minute break, then work another 90 minutes. … So it’s a little under 3.5 hours total.
In a 6 hour block, we work for 90 minutes, take a 20 minute break, work for 90 minutes, take a 40 minute break, work 90 minutes, take a 20 minute break, and then a final 90 minutes. A 6 classroom hour block, then, takes about 7 hours and 20 minutes. So with room for error, I assume it’s about 7.5 hours total.
Food on Breaks: Bring Your Own
To maximize our use of time, I request that all partici-pants Bring Your Own Food & Beverages for the whole day’s breaks, including Dinner, if we have one. This way, we won’t lose time while people are out looking for food and waiting to get served. After the 20 or 40 break minute time passes, we’ll restart for the evening program.
YOU will be responsible for brining enough to eat and drink. … I will do my best to find facilities that have refrigeration and sinks, etc., but cannot guarantee this in advance.
If We’re Lucky, of course, the workshop will be next door to, or down the street from, something like a Whole Foods, then no problem!
Day plus Evening Sessions:
Same rules will apply for longer days. If we do a 6 hour daytime block (plus breaks) and a 3 hour evening block (plus break), we will take a One Hour Dinner Break, then restart the workshop.
What To Bring:
Wear favorite yoga clothes, with layers if you tend to get cold. • Bring notebook & pens/pencils (several colors if you’re an artistic type). • Food & Drink.
For PHASES 1 & 3 of the Training: A mat & a blanket or two. • Several pillows/small bolsters • Props if you use them, like yoga blocks.
Group Size for Workshops:
8 to 12 Participants, Maximum
For Quality of Experience and
Individualized, Personal Attention
[When I have found and trained TWO Assistants,
the Maximum Group number will be 24]
