Are You Ready . . . ?

To BE On The Leading Edge of
Physical/Mental/Relational Yoga & Yoga Therapeutics?

To MASTER Principles of Maximizing Results While Minimizing Injury In the Practice & Teaching of Yoga and Conscious Stretching?

HELLO! … This is David Scott Lynn (DSL) and I’m really glad you’re taking some of your valuable time to read this and my other brochures that should have accompanied this letter. I certainly hope to make it worth your while, as it certainly has been for many others. As you’ll see on my Testimonial webpage (see link, bottom right on back), many people like yourself have gotten a LOT of benefit by taking my programs, or working with me privately.

If you’re like a lot of yoga teachers — and other health care practitioners I’ve worked with — you’re looking for more and better ways to help your Students and Clients achieve more of what’s available from yoga, yoga therapy, and/or yoga-based bodywork. Deeply understanding how the bodymind works gives you more tools to figure out what your Students & Clients need most, and what most to avoid. You’ll also benefit by being able to sit down with a doctor and explain to them, in their own terminology, how things work in yoga. You’ll gain a LOT of respect & credibility when you meet them on their own turf.

Being better able to explain things — to educate people — can expand your horizons tremendously, especially in attracting new students. And that very same knowledge makes you a better educator, practitioner and therapist, too.

Now, you probably haven’t heard of me — YET — as I’ve been out of circulation for a few years working on several projects, including completely redesigning my Yoga/Bodywork/Whole Health Teaching System and a book I co-wrote with Kyle C. Wright, Clinical Massage Therapy & Structural Bodywork, due to be released by McGraw-Hill this month (March). And now, since my background is in yoga, and my work is based in yoga, I’ve refocused most of my trainings toward Yoga Teachers & Yoga Therapists.

You see, I spent many years working with and training Massage Therapists & Bodyworkers. But while teaching in Yoga Teacher Trainings in Sedona, Arizona, I saw real desires in the yoga community for more in-depth trainings on how to apply the human & physical sciences — anatomy, kinesiology, physiology —  to the practice & teaching of yoga & yoga therapy. … And to tell you the truth, so did the yoga teachers I was training! They were adamant that I had to get this education out to more yogis — including YOU. So here here you are! And here I am!

As well, many of the principles I learned and applied to develop my Yoga/Bodywork system were learned from Joel Kramer, whom Yoga Journal calls the Father of American Yoga. And I believe those principles need to be more well known in America. In turn, my nearly 30 years of Private, Yoga-based, hands-on Bodywork  Practice led me to modify my yoga system based on what I found is REALLY going on in human bodies & minds, rather than the many Near-Mythologies out there, even in some of the more traditional or “scientific” approaches to yoga & stretching.

And, I believe the deeper, more expanded insights you’ll get from my years of working in the hands-on, Structural Bodywork field will be immensely valuable to you. It will expand your dimensions dramatically, as it did mine. Besides, my bodywork techniques are yoga-based from the ground up, including the mental/emotional aspects. And I provided my Clients with customized, individual yoga routines for their specific structural and postural issues, an important part of their Yoga Therapy. Something you’ll get really good at when you work with me.

I really did not — in MY mind — separate the yoga therapy from the hands-on therapy in any significant way. They really do complement each other a lot. But the interactions between them pushed me to evolve both significantly, and ALWAYS based on my extensive studies of the human & physical sciences. I never let my preferred ideas prevail if reliable science contradicts. The trick is to figure out whether the CONCLUSIONS people are making based on the apparent science is accurate. If not, you do have to be willing to buck accepted wisdom. But the several years I spent working side-by-side with a handful of alternative medical, osteopathic and chiropractic doctors helped me get over any concerns I had about taking on the medical establishment. Or, the yoga and bodywork establishments. (Yes, they’re out there, too!)

So now, it is a natural thing for me to re-turn to my roots in physical, mental & relational yoga. … And oh yes, my years as a Structural Steel Ironworker foreman — heavy construction of  and aligning steel structures — made a BIG difference in my ability to see human structures. An ability you’ll soon be learning, too, if you get started with me.

Of course, the damage to my muscles in those years as an ironworker (and racing motocross, too) was significant, and made a huge contribution to my abilities to figure out and fix neuromuscular/myofascial problems. And since no one was able to help ME, I had to do it myself, with the yoga I learned from Joel Kramer, plus what I learned about structural analysis from Daniel Blake, a direct student of Ida Rolf (of Rolfing®, and Structural Integration). (And no, yoga cannot fix all problems, which is why I became a hands-on bodyworker, too.) … If you are interested in THAT story — of how I developed this work — please go to my website and read the biographical history at www.dslyoga.com/about/history .

Also I’ve been studying Guerilla Marketing, internet market-ing, website design, copywriting (what you are reading now is a result of the course I took) and such. Why? . . .

DSL’s Personal Life Mission is to bring Yoga into the 21st Century in America, based on Western Psycho-Philosophical & Spiritual Traditions with Essential Insights from the East.

Part 2 of that Mission is to Help YOU become a better Yoga Educator and/or Yoga Therapist … and a Great Marketer, too.

Please see my Mission Statement in the above quote.  And Notice Part 2. Because if I can help YOU become more successful, then you’ll be able to take even more of my programs (which right now are VERY IN-expensive). And I’ll be able to reach & teach more people. And I have a LOT of stuff to teach.

And you know what? That 2-Part Mission is going to take A LOT of marketing! … But I believe I now have a strong enough founda-tion to make it all happen. But I AM going to need Your Help, if it’s going to work.

DSL is about helping YOU Create More Value for Your Students & Clients by helping you be one of the most insightful, skilled and knowledgeable yoga practitioners, teachers & therapists ANYWHERE!

That’s My Personal Promise!!!

So, if you’re looking for a stronger foundation in physical & human sciences that help you become a more knowledgeable & skilled yoga teacher and/or yoga therapist, I think you’ve found the right place. If you want a deeper understanding of how yogasana actually work, and how to work with them in posture, movement & dysfunction, this is the place. … If you have any doubts, again, you can check the Testimonials on my website.

Now, in case you’ve not seen it, the very best way to get started, and to help me get this 2-Part Mission under way for Me AND You, is to ATTEND — or even SPONSOR — one of my Introductory Talks called BodyMind BreakDowns. It’s a FREE, 2.5 hour talk plus Question & Answer time.  You will learn A LOT you can use NOW. And I’ll stay until every last question is answered, or someone lock the doors. The brochure should have come with this one.

I PROMISE you it will be one of the MOST informative few hours you’ve EVER attended. It’s packed with insights & information forming the Big Picture of how yoga actually works, and why people should be coming to YOU for yoga or yoga therapy. It will truly expand your views of yoga & yoga-based health care, and how you can better serve your Students.

So PLEASE check out the rest of the materials. Then GIVE ME A CALL or e-MAIL. Tell me what you think, ask your questions, or SIGN UP!!!

Take Care, David Scott Lynn

Please Read my Essay on The Technology Gap. This explains the age-old principle of how one maintains their position in the market place of ideas, products and services. This is what determines whether Students and Clients decide to stick with you or go to other providers of similar services. – DSL
